Royal Model 1:35 Engine grill screen Tiger II is a set of photo-etched protective screens for the engine louvers of a model of the Tiger II heavy tank. An accessory for superdetailing, not a standalone model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This photo-etched set from the Italian maker Royal Model contains fine metal protective screens for the engine louvers of a model of the German Tiger II heavy tank in 1:35 scale. The photo-etched screen replaces a thick plastic casting and faithfully imitates the fine protective mesh that covered the cooling air intakes on the rear engine deck. It is an accessory, not a model of the tank.
The Tiger II, also known as the Königstiger, was a German heavy tank of the end of the Second World War with massive armor and a gun of 8.8 cm caliber. On the rear engine deck it carried prominent mesh louvers protecting the intakes and outlets of the cooling system, and it is precisely their faithful rendition that is among the most conspicuous details of a well-built model.
Remove the photo-etched screens carefully so that they do not deform; flatten any bend over a flat surface. Glue them with small drops of super glue (cyanoacrylate) around the perimeter. Apply a primer before painting and spray the screens so that they stay see-through: avoid flooding them with paint. Bring out dust and soot with pigments.
This is a supplementary photo-etched set, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
