A focused set that solves a single problem, though a very conspicuous one. The fenders of German vehicles were made of thin sheet, and on a model from an injection mold they always look thicker than they should. The steel photo-etched part from Royal Model replaces them with a material whose thickness matches reality. The vehicle is supplied separately. The photo-etched fret is prepared for the Dragon kit.
In photographs of machines in action the fenders tend to be the most marked part of all. They bent against obstacles, tore while backing up, whole front sections went missing and the crews sometimes took them off themselves, so that mud would not pack up between them. On a vehicle of the Jagdtiger's weight that went double. The metal version therefore offers something plastic cannot, namely the possibility of really bending a part, denting it or tearing a piece off it and letting the result look credible.
First work out from a period photograph what the final shape is to look like, and only then form the sheet. You create damage with a blunt point over a soft surface, over a layer of cork for instance. Leave the cut edges irregular after a tear and admit the scraped metal on them, which then takes rust and running deposits well.
Paints, putties and the plastic kit are not part of the delivery.
