An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Flettner Fl 282 Kolibri light helicopter in 1:35 scale from the Ukrainian manufacturer MiniArt. The model is richly broken down and, besides the plastic parts, it also contains clear parts and photo-etched metal elements for the finest details. It is one of the first models in this manufacturer's aircraft line.
The Flettner Fl 282 Kolibri was a single-seat reconnaissance helicopter with an open cockpit and a pair of intermeshing rotors (a synchropter). It was developed by the designer Anton Flettner and was one of the first helicopters in the world to be tested in series production. During the war it served mainly for reconnaissance and liaison, among other things over the sea.
Separate the parts from the sprues with a cutter and glue them with a thin plastic cement. The fine truss-work rotor mast and the blades call for careful work and patience. Apply a primer before painting; the shades are best built up with an airbrush. The open structure comes into its own with a dark wash and light weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
