An injection-molded plastic model of the German command bus GAZ-05-193 in 1:35 scale from the MiniArt brand. The model captures the captured Soviet bus that the Wehrmacht used as a mobile command and signals post. The kit offers a fully detailed interior with command and signals equipment, an engine bay and a chassis; it holds a photo-etched fret, clear parts, figures and decals for several color options. The exact number of parts is not stated here.
The GAZ-05-193 was a Soviet light bus built on the chassis of a GAZ series truck. A number of these vehicles fell into the hands of the German army during the Second World War, which used them as command and transport vehicles. The closed body gave room for staff work, radio sets and planning close to the front, which made the bus a practical mobile workplace.
On a vehicle with a rich interior it pays to assemble and paint the inner equipment, the seats and the signals gear before the body is closed up, because once glued those places are harder to reach. Glue the plastic parts with thin modeling cement for plastic and the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a primer before painting and spray the paint with an airbrush in thin coats. Fine-tune the weathering with dark washes into the recesses and pigments for dust effects on the chassis and the fenders.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
