This accessory from the Italian brand concentrates on one particular assembly of the heavy tank, namely the differently shaped turret of the first examples built. Thin steel sheet makes it possible to create edges, loops and rims in a thickness that cannot be drawn out of an injection mold. You have to have your own basic plastic kit. The set is intended for the Tamiya kit.
The Tiger II left the line in two forms. The first roughly fifty hulls got a turret with a curved front wall and a bulged gun mantlet, for which the designation after the competing Porsche project took hold, although Krupp supplied the design. It was precisely that curve under the mantlet that worked as a shot trap: a hit could be deflected off it downward onto the thin roof of the hull. The later production turret therefore got a flat front wall with a narrower aperture. The armament stayed the same in both cases, the long 88 mm gun with a barrel 71 calibers long, one of the most effective anti-tank guns of the war.
Form the curved parts gradually over a cylindrical object, a metal rod or a drill bit for instance, and do not press on them hard all at once. Secure the joints with thin cyanoacrylate glue applied with the tip of a wire. Before you start painting, let the metal rest a while and avoid fingerprints.
Paints, putty and the plastic model are not supplied with the accessory.
