Everyday military life in miniature: 1:35 German soldier cleans up his rifle - WWII captures a German soldier maintaining his weapon. A resin figure in 1:35, Royal Model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A single figure caught during ordinary maintenance of his personal weapon. It is made by Royal Model, an Italian brand working with polyurethane resin. It is precisely the quiet poses that give a scene in 1:35 its credibility, because a soldier on the battlefield spent far more time caring for his weapon than firing it.
The basic weapon of the German infantry was a 7.92 mm bolt-action rifle. For reliability, the barrel and the bolt were pulled through practically every day, often sitting by a vehicle or in a trench. The cleaning kit was carried in a small metal case, so the scene can be built up even outside a large diorama as a small still life with a crate, a blanket and a helmet laid aside.
You get the residue of release agent off with a short bath in warm water with a few drops of dishwashing liquid. Cut the burrs left by the mold off with a sharp scalpel and run fine sandpaper over the surface. A wooden stock looks best if a thin glaze is drawn over a brown base in the direction of the grain. For the metal parts it is then enough to pick them out in a dark steel color and polish the edge gently with a pencil or a metallic pigment.
The package holds unpainted parts, unassembled. Paints, glue and scene accessories are bought separately, unless stated otherwise.
