The add-on set 1:35 HORCH 108 Type 1a from the brand Royal Model refines a model of the heavy German cross-country car. The plastic base is bought separately.
Responsibility details are not available.
Royal Model has prepared this add-on set from photo-etched sheet and resin castings. It aims at what is most in view on an open body: the thin sheet-metal parts, the hinges, the grab handles, the instrument panel and the equipment in the crew compartment. Illustrated instructions are included.
The Horch 108 belonged to the family of so-called standardized cross-country cars, which were to replace the varied mixture of requisitioned civilian chassis. A V8 engine powered it and it had permanent drive to all wheels. The Type 1a form came in 1940 and gave up the complicated rear-axle steering, which was prone to failure and placed high demands on the driver. Staff cars, tractors for light guns and vehicles for carrying a whole squad arose on the same chassis.
Try the bends out dry beforehand on an offcut of the fret: metal will not let itself be straightened a second time without the risk of cracking. Cut resin with a saw, not with nippers, which crush it. Do the sanding wet and with protection of the airways. Anyone who wants to save needless hunting around will prepare fine tweezers and a new sharp scalpel in advance.
The plastic base is bought separately. The package does not contain glues, paints or thinners.
