The 1:35 Horns German Tanks - WWII set from Royal Model contains photo-etched horns of German fighting vehicles of the Second World War. A universal accessory for a wide range of kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
A small thing that surprisingly draws the eye on a finished model. On one small fret Royal Model supplies photo-etched horns in the form that Wehrmacht vehicles carried, and so offers a replacement for the usually shapeless plastic molding. Its use is not tied to a single type of machine; it comes in useful right across German vehicles.
A signaling horn was part of the compulsory equipment of practically every military vehicle. It usually sat on a fender, on the front plate of the hull or by a headlight and served as a warning in a column and in traffic away from the battlefield. In period photographs it is one of the elements from which the production run can be told, and also how long the vehicle had served in the field. Given its position in an exposed place it was often dented or missing altogether, which is a rewarding detail for modelers who build a worn machine.
The individual parts are very small, so prepare a light-colored mat and work over a box, so that a part does not fall on the floor. You create the tubular part of the horn by rolling the flat part around a thin wire. Finally attach the part with a drop of cyanoacrylate glue and turn it in the direction it pointed on the real subject.
You obtain the vehicle the accessory is fitted to separately.
