This is a set of fine photo-etched brass parts from the Polish manufacturer Aber. It is not a kit or a finished model: it is an aftermarket accessory intended to replace and add details on plastic models of the legendary Willys MB off-road vehicle in 1:35 scale. The parts offer a thinness and crispness that injection-molded plastic cannot capture.
Photo-etch can refine and add a range of elements: tool clamps, handles, hinges, grilles, clips, strap buckles, brackets and other small items that look heavy on a plastic model. The result is a more faithful, more varied surface matching the real vehicle.
Separate the parts with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface and make the bends over a ruler or in a photo-etch bending tool. They are best glued with super glue (cyanoacrylate) or with a small amount of epoxy. Degrease the metal before gluing and apply a primer suitable for metal before painting. Working with photo-etch calls for patience and a steady hand.
