Rockets of the Soviet salvo rocket launcher in resin. Katiusha rockets in 1:35 scale replace the coarser parts on the guide rails of the launcher.
Responsibility details are not available.
Cast rockets intended for the guide rails of the Soviet salvo rocket launcher, in 1:35 scale. The material is polyurethane resin and the maker is the Italian brand Royal Model. Replacing the parts from a kit pays off above all where the launcher is seen close up and coarser shapes stand out.
The salvo rocket launchers of the Red Army first spoke in July 1941 at Orsha and stayed with the troops until the end of the war. A frame carried on a truck released a whole load within a few seconds and then drove off at once to escape return fire. The accuracy was poor, but the effect over an area was crushing and the psychological impact greater still. Soviet soldiers called the weapon Katyusha after a popular song of the day, and on the German side the name Stalin's organ took hold, after the howling sound of the launch.
Once the castings are washed and the casting remnants removed, apply a thin primer. The bodies of the rockets tended to be dark green, and the warheads and joints often differed in shade. A dry brush will pick out the ribbing of the fins, and a fine wash will define the gaps. The area around the guide rails tended to be sooted by exhaust gases, which gives a whole scene its movement.
The launcher and the vehicle are not in the price, and the set supplies the rockets alone.
