1:35 Kubelwagen driver - WWII is a resin figure of a German driver in a seated position from the Royal Model brand.
Responsibility details are not available.
The figure is cast in a seated position matching the shape of the seat of a light cross-country car. Resin holds crisper folds of the uniform and more pronounced detail of the face and hands than can be achieved with a split injection mold. The figure is supplied unpainted and without a base, because its place is behind the wheel of a particular vehicle.
The German light cross-country car was derived from the prewar people's car. It had an air-cooled flat engine at the rear, drove the rear wheels only and yet held up surprisingly well across country, because it was very light and had good ground clearance. It served as a liaison and command car on every front, from African sands to the Russian winter, and its angular sheet-metal body is one of the most easily recognized shapes of its time.
First set the figure dry into the interior, because the position of the hands has to match the wheel and the feet the pedals, and level out any difference by sanding. Only then wash the casting and apply a primer. Build the uniform on muted contrast, as sharp transitions look unnatural at this scale. Leave the face until last and give it the most time, because it is the face that decides the impression of the whole scene.
