The MLRS rocket launcher in 1:35 scale is completed by this second part of the photo-etched set, with thin metal grilles, loops and flat elements of the launcher body.
Responsibility details are not available.
The follow-up part of the metal upgrade for a model of the American MLRS rocket launcher at 1:35 size. It deals with the small items on the superstructure and on the hull, where plastic would have to be several times thicker than real sheet metal. The base kit of the vehicle is not included, and the set is added to it.
The American army introduced the MLRS system in the 1980s as an answer to the need to strike a large area at once in the depth of the enemy's formation. The launcher sits on a tracked chassis derived from an infantry fighting vehicle, so it keeps pace with armored formations across country. A salvo fired in under a minute covers an area comparable to several football fields. During the war in the Persian Gulf in 1991 the system earned the nickname steel rain from the enemy.
On modern equipment the surfaces tend to be smooth, so the slightest fingerprint on the metal will show through the finish. Work in cotton gloves or clean the parts with alcohol at the end. Assemble the launcher body separately from the chassis and join them only once they are painted, otherwise you will not reach many places.
The contents are metal components only, unpainted, and the package holds nothing more.
