1:35 Panzer IV crewman Normandy 1944 brings a figure of a German tanker set in the fighting in Normandy, in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A single figure of a tanker in 1:35 scale set in the summer of 1944 in France. The Royal Model brand offers it as an accessory to a model of an armored vehicle, not as a set with equipment.
The Normandy landscape, divided by high banks and sunken lanes, took from tanks the main thing that made them strong: observation and range. Duels took place at a few dozen meters, commanders looked out of their hatches because otherwise nothing could be seen, and the losses among commanders' crews matched that. That is exactly why a figure leaning out of a turret suits a model of the German Panzer IV better than a closed hatch: it tells of the way the fighting was conducted in that area. The German Panzer IV was at the same time among the most numerous types in the units there and bore the brunt of the fighting from the first days of the invasion to the retreat across the Seine.
Check whether the figure will pass through the hatch opening of your model; on older moldings the opening tends to be narrower than it looks. Thin sections, mainly the fingers and the edges of the cap, will take little sandpaper, so proceed in small steps and rather switch more often between a close view and a view from a distance. Build the uniform over a gray base and leave the darkest places in shadow, not in black.
