This is a flexible die-cut masking stencil intended for Panzer IV Ausf.D models in 1:35 scale. It is neither a kit nor a set of wheels, but an aid that greatly shortens the slowest part of painting a tracked vehicle: separating the rubber tire band from the metal disc of the road wheel.
The wheel is pushed into the matching cutout and its edge settles onto the flexible material of the stencil. The raised rims cover the disc and protect the rubber tire band from overspray. First the wheels are sprayed in a dark shade (the rubber), then, once it is dry, the stencil is laid on and the vehicle color is applied with an airbrush. The masks can be used again, whether you wash them or not.
The Panzerkampfwagen IV was a German medium tank in action throughout the Second World War. The Ausf.D version from the late 1930s carried a short 7.5 cm gun in the role of a support tank and ran on road wheels with rubber tire bands paired in bogies.
The package holds the masking stencil only. Paints, the model and the wheels are not included.
