The real subject

The Panzerwerfer was a German self-propelled rocket launcher of the Second World War: a rotating armored launcher body with ten barrels of 15 cm caliber, from which rockets were fired at area targets, was set on an armored half-track chassis. It is precisely this body, listed in the name of the set as a turret, that is the most conspicuous thing on the vehicle, and on a model everybody looks at it first. The small elements around the barrels, their mounting and the inner walls of the body tend to be simplified in a kit, though.

What the set contains

Accessory parts for the rotating launcher body of the rocket launcher in 1:35 scale, reckoned for the kit from the brand Italeri. They replace or complete the parts of the kit where a fine shape and a sharp edge are at stake. The exact composition of the set and the placement of the individual parts on the model are given by the manufacturer's instructions.

Building and painting tips

Cut away surplus material with a sharp blade a short distance from the part and carefully sand the remainder, so that the original shape is preserved. The parts are not of polystyrene and ordinary glue for plastic has no effect on them; use cyanoacrylate glue and try the joints dry beforehand. Before painting, wash the parts and degrease them and apply a primer. It is sensible to finish and paint the body before you seat it on the hull, because a brush will not reach the inner surfaces afterward.

Who it is for

For modelers who build German vehicles and want to have the most exposed part of the vehicle better worked out than an injection-molded kit allows. Work on a part-built model and basic experience with accessory parts are assumed. The kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
