An injection-molded plastic kit of a railway crossing in 1:35 scale from MiniArt. It is not a model of a vehicle but a diorama accessory meant to complete a scene. The set contains a section of track, the crossing barriers, road signage and mechanical operating gear. The barriers can be built raised or lowered, so you can bring the scene to life according to your own idea.
A railway crossing is a rewarding element in dioramas from the Second World War as well as in later civilian scenes. It completes the vehicles, figures and terrain set around it and gives the scene a story, for example a column halted at lowered barriers. The set suits military and civilian dioramas in 1:35 scale.
Use thin cement for plastic and work in subassemblies. Glue and paint the rails, the ties and the barriers separately first, and only then set them into the terrain of the diorama. Apply a primer before painting and put the paint on with an airbrush or a brush. The rusting metal parts and the wood of the ties come to life after washes and pigments; the barriers with their warning stripes are easier with masking.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
