The saturated green shade Xpress Forest Green for foliage, cloaks and forest terrain. The depth of the growth arises while it dries, so there is no need to prepare a green glaze, which usually slides into brown.

Forest Green is a darker green shifted toward leaf. It suits anywhere the growth should be alive but not poisonously bright: forest undergrowth, a ranger's cloak, moss growing over stone or wooden parts in deep landscape.
Green is the hardest of all colors to shade. A thinned brown, which most people reach for, does darken the tone, but at the same time it takes the greenness away from it and the foliage starts to look withered. A thinned black, in turn, deadens the green into gray. The route that works goes through a darker green glaze mixed from the same shade, only that is hard to dose and easily overdone. A paint in which the pigment settles into the hollows by itself cancels that choice, because the shadow has the same color base as the area above it.
On broken-up foliage the paint is let to run by itself and the brush only suggests the direction. On smooth areas, by contrast, the stroke has to be led evenly and without stopping. A good addition is an application of a lighter green to the edges of the leaves once dry, which gives the growth a lightening without the shadow having to be dealt with.
On a base the order from dark to light proves itself: first the shade is laid across the whole area of the growth, once dry the upper leaves are gone over with a brighter green, and finally a dry soil pigment is added to the lower parts.
