The M36 is an American tank destroyer of the Second World War. It arose as an answer to the need for a weapon that would deal even with well-armored German machines, and it therefore carried a gun of 90 mm caliber. The turret stayed open at the top, which improved the crew's view but left them unprotected from splinters and against fire from above. That is precisely why covers for the open roof of the turret reached the vehicles. The M36B2 is one of the production forms of this line.

Metal holds the scale thickness of sheet, which a plastic part never achieves, and the cover thus looks like a real plate, not like a thick board. The exact placement on the turret, the way it is folded and whether it can be fitted in the open as well as the closed position are given by the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut the part off with a sharp knife on a hard surface, not by breaking it out. Make the bends along the etched score lines, best in a bending tool for photo-etched metal or against the edge of a steel ruler, and apply the pressure along the whole length of the bend at once. Metal is glued with cyanoacrylate glue; glue for polystyrene does not hold on it. Before painting, wash the fret, degrease it and coat it with a primer, otherwise the shade rubs off bare metal with every handling of the model.
For modelers of American vehicles of the Second World War who want to have the open turret covered in a scale thickness and will not settle for a coarse plastic part. The cover also changes the silhouette of the vehicle, so it suits anybody building two different versions of the same subject side by side. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
