A plastic kit from the premium manufacturer Meng in 1:35 scale. It captures the 9K37M1 BUK, a mobile surface-to-air missile system (NATO code name Gadfly). It is a tracked vehicle with a rotating launch rail and large guided missiles. The set contains clear parts for the vision devices, photo-etched parts, a jig for assembling the tracks and a masking template for the wheels.
The BUK is a self-propelled surface-to-air missile complex intended to destroy aircraft, helicopters and guided missiles. The launch vehicle carries several large guided missiles on a rotating launch rail and works together with the radar of the system. The tracked chassis gives it mobility across country and the ability to change position quickly.
You will appreciate the accuracy of the parts typical of Meng. Assemble the running gear and the tracks (use the jig supplied); the launch rail with the missiles can be positioned. Use liquid cement on the plastic and cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) on the small photo-etched parts. Primer and an airbrush are recommended; mask the clear vision devices and fit them at the very end. The vehicle is a rewarding subject for weathering: washes in the recesses, pigments for dust and mud on the running gear and filters to unify the green. Paints and weathering products are not part of the kit.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
