The front wheels for the Sd.Kfz. 251 Ausf. C and D carrier in 1:35 scale of polyurethane resin.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of resin wheels for the steered axle of the German armored half-track carrier in the Ausf. C and Ausf. D versions. The castings carry a sharper tread pattern and a clean shape of the rim, which on an injection-molded part is usually spoiled by the seam from the mold.
The Sd.Kfz. 251 carrier took the infantry of the armored divisions into battle and became one of the most widespread German vehicles of the war. The Ausf. C version still has a welded nose made up of several plates and sides with external boxes, whereas the simplified Ausf. D of 1943 was given a sloped rear of one piece and tool boxes pressed into the sides. Both variants served at the same time and differed mainly in how laborious they were to produce.
A bath in warm water with detergent will take off the grease that paint would not stand. Remove the sprue gate with a saw as close to the disc as possible and level the surface with abrasive paper, preferably wet, so that no dust rises. Fit them with cyanoacrylate glue and watch that both wheels are parallel. The tires look best in a dark gray shade completed with light dusting; pure black looks flat and takes the depth out of a model.
The model of the carrier itself is sold separately.
