A fine photo-etched accessory from Royal Model that refines the interior of light vehicles in 1:35 scale. It is a part for improving a finished kit, not a standalone model of a car.
Light field vehicles of the Second World War had seats built on a frame of coiled springs over which the cover was stretched. As soon as the cover came off or was damaged, the whole frame of the seat was left exposed, and that is exactly how the cars look in a number of period photographs from field workshops and from laid-up columns. Injection molds usually only suggest this detail with a solid surface, so a replaced seat is among the visible improvements that even a layman notices.
Separate the components on a hard surface with the blade held straight down, not by twisting; bent sheet is hard to straighten. Form the coil by winding a strip onto round stock of a suitable diameter, for example onto the shank of a drill bit, and check the pitch of the turns as you go. Treat the joints with thin super glue applied on the tip of a piece of wire. Before painting, key the sheet with a fine sponge so that the primer takes. Under the finished frame it pays to lay a thin film or a piece of paper imitating what is left of the torn cover; the detail gains depth by it.
