The off-duty figure 1:35 Shower time from the Italian brand Royal Model captures a soldier at a field shower and is supplied as a resin casting.
Responsibility details are not available.
The scene departs from the usual run of combat poses. The figure is caught without a uniform while washing, and it is completed by small items that make it possible to build a whole corner of an improvised washhouse, including the shower head. The manufacturer gives resin as the material and classes the item among figures.
Hygiene in the field was a rarity that period photographs hardly reached. Soldiers put a shower together from whatever was at hand: a tank or a barrel hoisted onto a frame, a hose and a board grating. It is exactly such small scenes that stand out at competitions today, because they tell a story a viewer does not know from dozens of combat scenes. An improvised washhouse also makes it possible to bring water, towels and laid-aside equipment naturally into a scene.
First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water, so that no mold release agent is left on the surface. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw rather than snapping them, or a thin place may break off. Do the sanding wet because of the dust. Bare skin is more demanding than a uniform: work in thin layers and build the shadows gradually; oil paints forgive more mistakes here than acrylic.
The figure is unpainted and unassembled; brushes and paints do not belong with it.
