A small fret that comes in useful practically all the time. On it Royal Model offers a set of miniature grab handles in several sizes, of the kind that appear on real vehicles on hatches, tool boxes, doors and bins. It is exactly this type of small item that on plastic moldings is either simplified or missing altogether.
A hold made of metal has a thickness on a model that matches reality, and under it a gap is left that light can pass through. It is that gap that creates the impression of real hardware. On a plastic part the same thing is done with a shallow lug, which from close up looks like a strip glued on. The set therefore does not serve a single project but works as a stock from which you take parts as needed across the models you have under way.
Work over a shallow dish, because a handle you have cut off disappears into the carpet faster than you can follow it. Bend the shape with tweezers over the edge of a blade or over a pin. A single drop of thin cyanoacrylate glue applied with the point of a pin will manage the attachment; cement for plastic does not work here. It is best to paint them only after fitting, so that the paint links the metal with the surrounding surface.
