The kit faithfully captures the characteristic rounded cast hull and turret and offers link-type tracks with pre-separated links for easier building. It also includes a commander figure leaning out of the turret's rear hatch, metal towing chains, and several marking options.
The Somua S35 was a French medium (cavalry) tank that many consider one of the best tanks France had available at the start of the Second World War. It was produced from the second half of the 1930s and saw combat in 1940 during the fighting in Belgium and northern France, where its well-sloped cast armor and balanced performance made it a dangerous opponent for German units. Its weakness was the single-seat turret, which overloaded the commander with tasks.
Assemble and glue the running gear with leaf springs and the link-type tracks before closing up the hull. Glue the plastic with thin liquid cement, use a primer before painting, and apply the shades with an airbrush — the French multicolor camouflage pattern really stands out with an airbrush. For weathering, use washes in the recesses and pigments for dust and mud on the running gear. Glue the metal towing chains on with cyanoacrylate.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
