A basic set of self-adhesive masking templates in fine kabuki (washi) tape from the Czech brand New Ware for a model of the Hawker Hurricane Mk.I fighter in 1:48 scale (the Sea Hurricane, Tropical and other versions included). The masks are machine-cut to be exact and shaped to the cockpit glazing and the wheels of the matching kit. The BASIC version covers the key areas for a clean separation of colors.

The real subject

The Hawker Hurricane Mk.I was a British fighter, one of the pillars of the defense during the Battle of Britain. It was built in land-based and carrier (Sea Hurricane) versions and in a tropical form with a dust filter. The multi-part greenhouse-type cockpit glazing is an ideal candidate for masking with templates.

Use

• Transfer the masks onto a clean, degreased surface and press them firmly onto the frames of the glazing.
• Apply the paint with an airbrush and, once it has dried, remove the masks carefully.
• Mask the wheels with separate pieces for a crisp tire-to-hub transition.
• Suitable for acrylic, enamel and lacquer paints.
