A photo-etched add-on set in 1:35 scale for a model of the StuG III assault gun from the Tamiya kit. It is the first part of the set; the parts and their placement are described by the manufacturer's instructions.
Responsibility details are not available.
The StuG III is a German assault gun of the Second World War built on the chassis of the Panzer III tank. Instead of a rotating turret it has a low fixed superstructure with the gun mounted in the front wall, which makes it strikingly low and harder to spot in the terrain. More of it was built than of any other German tracked vehicle of the period, and on the battlefield it appeared in everything from infantry support to defensive fighting.
Photo-etched parts in 1:35 scale intended for the StuG III kit from Tamiya. The set is marked as the first part, so it covers only a selected group of elements on the model. The extent of the parts and their exact placement are in the manufacturer's instructions, and it pays to go through them before you start gluing the hull.
The parts are held to the fret by small tabs. Cut through them with a sharp blade on a hard surface and do not break them out. Make the bends in a bending tool or between the jaws of flat pliers, in one go and along the whole length of the edge. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue applied in a minimal amount. Degrease the metal before painting and spray it with a primer, otherwise you will strip the finish during handling. The fenders and the sheet-metal covers will take small dents, which give the model a worn look.
For modelers with experience of etched metal who build German tracked vehicles in 1:35 scale and want to replace thick plastic covers with thin sheet. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
