Plusmodel 1:35 T1E1 US Earthworm mine exploder is a demanding resin conversion set with 3D-printed parts and photo-etch, which adds an anti-mine roller to a model of a recovery vehicle on the Sherman chassis.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin conversion set in 1:35 scale from the Czech maker Plusmodel adds the heavy T1E1 anti-mine roller, nicknamed Earthworm, to a model of a recovery vehicle built on the M4 Sherman chassis. The set combines cast resin, 3D-printed parts and a fret of photo-etched parts; it also holds assembly instructions. It is not a complete kit of the vehicle: the base model is not included in the package.
The T1E1 was an American experimental mine-clearing system of the Second World War. Massive arms with a row of heavy toothed discs were mounted in front of the vehicle, and their weight set off landmines before the vehicle itself drove over them. It was carried by recovery vehicles derived from the M4 Sherman tank.
Wash the parts clean of mold release agent residue, cut them off the casting blocks and glue them with super glue; bend the photo-etch over a sharp edge. Given its extent it is a set for more experienced modelers. For the final look, thorough mud on the roller, rust and dust pigments and washes work well.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
