This is a photo-etched brass detail set from the Polish brand Aber in 1:35 scale. It is neither a kit nor a turret in its own right: it is a set of fine metal anti-grenade screens (mesh covers) of the kind fitted over the open turrets of light German vehicles armed with the 2 cm gun. The set is intended for models of the Sd.Kfz. 234/1, Sd.Kfz. 140/1, Sd.Kfz. 251/23 and Sd.Kfz. 250/9 (neu).
The open turrets of these vehicles received folding wire screens as protection against hand grenades. Mesh construction as fine as this cannot be cast faithfully in plastic, which is why it is solved with photo-etched parts. The set usually also allows the screens to be rendered in the folded-back (open) position.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife on a hard surface, shape the fine frames carefully on a bending tool and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); thin joints can also be soldered. Because the screens are so fine, work with tweezers and a steady hand. Degrease the metal before painting and lay down a primer.
This is an accessory for detailing, not a model in its own right, nor a complete turret. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
