An American generator 1:35 from Royal Model: an accessory for a field scene of the Second World War. It is not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A model of a portable electric generator of the US Army of the Second World War period in 1:35 scale. It is an accessory for a diorama, not a kit of a vehicle. In a scene it fills a role that no combat vehicle can: it explains where the light and the power at a field headquarters, in a workshop or at a dressing station come from, and at the same time it fills an empty space with an object that logically belongs there.
Portable generators were basic equipment in the rear of every army. They powered lighting, radio sets, workshop tools and medical equipment, and because they were needed everywhere they were built in enormous numbers and in several power classes. In period photographs they appear beside tents, on the beds of trucks and standing loose on the ground, usually surrounded by cables and jerrycans.
First wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent so that the mold release residue disappears. Cut off the casting blocks and level the faces, and sand with respiratory protection. It is glued with super glue, that is cyanoacrylate. Apply a primer before painting. A generator looks faithful when it is set apart from the vehicles around it: leave it grubbier, add oil stains around the engine and scuffed paint on the edges and handles, where it was carried by. Cables added from thin wire do most for the scene.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted and it is an accessory, not a kit. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
