A set of thirty-one resin parts with the general equipment of American units from the war in Vietnam, intended for 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
Thirty-one resin castings stand in for the ordinary American field kit of the period of the fighting in southeast Asia. It is exactly these small things that turn a cleanly built vehicle into an inhabited place: without them the load bed looks empty and a post looks as though nobody ever used it.
At that time the American army had moved to nylon load-carrying straps, sheet metal boxes and pressed containers, which looked the same in the infantry, among the engineers and on the crews of armored vehicles. One set will therefore serve very different scenes - from a parked carrier through a patrol at the edge of the jungle to a supply point in the shade of a camouflage net.
In 1:35, one meter of reality comes out at just under twenty-nine millimeters. A twenty-liter jerrycan therefore measures around thirteen millimeters, a canteen barely five and a sheet metal ammunition box roughly nine. Pieces like that cannot be held in the fingers; you need tweezers with a fine tip and a surface a casting will not roll off. It pays to work over a shallow dish: what falls into it, you will find; what falls on the carpet is gone.
The parts are joined to pour blocks, which are removed with a saw or a cutting disc, not by twisting. Before painting, the castings have to be washed in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent, so that the mold release agent disappears; otherwise the paint will blotch. Super glue or two-part epoxy will hold them; ordinary cement for plastic does not work here.
