A figure in 1:35 scale representing a German mountain trooper of the Second World War. Intended to be painted by the modeler, for a diorama and for a model of a vehicle.
Responsibility details are not available.
The German mountain units, designated Gebirgsjäger, were trained for fighting in terrain where ordinary infantry did not advance: in rocks, in snow and at altitudes where all the material is carried on backs or on pack animals. During the Second World War they appeared in the north of Europe, in the Balkans and on the southern flank of the Eastern Front. The edelweiss became their badge.
A figure of a soldier in 1:35 scale, that is in the same scale as ordinary kits of military vehicles and diorama accessories. It will come in useful in a scene, beside a model of a vehicle and on its own on a base in a display case. The number of parts and the way to assemble it are described by the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut away surplus material with a sharp blade a short distance from the part and sand the area, so that the joint seats without a gap. Wash and degrease the figure before painting. Work from the primer through flat shades to shading and glazes, which bring out the folds of the cloth. A mountain scene invites a winter treatment: snow and frost are done only on a finished and varnished figure, otherwise you will ruin the work underneath. Leave the face for last and paint it in good light; on figures set in a mountain environment it tends to be tanned and weather-beaten, which is worth suggesting in the painting.
For modelers who build scenes from the mountain and winter battlefields of the Second World War, and for collectors of figures. Paints, glue and other equipment are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
