The Willys MB, generally known as the jeep, was an American light cross-country car with drive to all wheels and a quarter-ton payload. It was built in hundreds of thousands, carried commanders, the wounded and supplies, towed light weapons and entered service with every Allied army. For a modeler it is interesting because it has an open body with no sheet-metal covers, so practically everything is visible on a finished model, including parts that stay hidden on other vehicles.

Photo-etch is used where injection-molded plastic is necessarily thicker than the real subject would warrant and where the thickness of a part is visible on a model. Which parts the set replaces and in what order they are fitted is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut the parts out of the fret with a sharp blade on a firm surface, not with pliers, otherwise the edge ripples. Make the bends over the edge of a metal ruler or in a bending tool, not freehand. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue applied on a pin, and on larger surfaces a slower-setting type helps. Before painting, wash the photo-etch, degrease it and use a base color meant for metal. With an open vehicle it pays to paint in sections and to assemble only at the end, because once it is glued you will not reach the crew space with a brush. Glue the thinnest elements on at the very end of the build.
The set is for modelers who want a credible thickness of the sheet-metal parts on a small open vehicle and do not mind working with small photo-etch. It is an accessory to a kit; the model itself, paints and glue are not in the package, unless stated otherwise.
