Miniature wing nuts from Royal Model in 1:35 scale combine resin castings with photo-etched metal and replace coarse plastic imitations of fasteners.
Responsibility details are not available.
Small fasteners are among the details that nobody notices until they are missing. Royal Model supplies this set as a combination of castings in polyurethane resin and photo-etched metal components. With shapes this small it is the only way to keep the sharp edges of the wings of a nut.
A wing nut, popularly a butterfly nut, is tightened with the fingers, without a wrench. That is exactly why equipment used it everywhere something had to be released quickly: the clips for shovels and picks on the fenders, the clips of covers, the attachment of spare parts, the tarpaulin hoops of trucks, the frames of field workshops and simple stands. In period photographs you will find them on tanks, artillery tractors and civilian machines alike. A scale-accurate rendering of such a small thing moves a whole model up a class, because the eye instinctively looks for familiar shapes.
Separate the castings from the casting block with a saw or a cutting disc, level the surface and wash the part, because residue of the release agent prevents the paint from adhering. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, which you should apply on the tip of a wire so that the fine shape is not flooded.
Paints, glue and the model that the parts are fitted to are not included.
