Voyager Model 1:35 photo-etch for the Jagdpanther G2, basic set

An accessory for modelers of military vehicles in 1:35 scale from Voyager Model. It is a basic set of photo-etched metal parts with which you replace the plastic fenders, grilles, tool clamps and other thin sheet-metal elements on a model. The set is cut for one particular kit of the Jagdpanther tank destroyer in the late G2 rendering, which has to be bought separately. On the large flat front of the casemate every sheet-metal detail is clearly visible, so work with photo-etch pays off.

The real subject

The Jagdpanther came about by joining the chassis of the Panther tank to a fixed casemate and a gun of 88 millimeters with a long barrel. It was one of the most successful German tank destroyers, because it combined a powerful weapon with good mobility and a low silhouette. The late G2 rendering differed in the detail of the casemate, the mounting of the barrel and the arrangement of the clamps on the hull, which are exactly the elements where photo-etch shows most.

Use

• cut the parts from the fret with a sharp knife on a hard surface; do not break them out
• make the bends over a metal ruler or in a photo-etch bender
• glue with super glue applied with the tip of a wire
• cut off the plastic parts the photo-etch replaces and sand the area flat
• degrease the metal before painting and give it a primer for metal

The set is intended for more experienced modelers. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
