In the package there are three separate plastic kits of the Chinese Harbin Z-9B utility helicopter in 1:350 scale. The models have only a few parts and are intended mainly as an accessory to ship models, dioramas and scenes in this scale, where a helicopter on a deck or on a landing area gives the whole scale as well as action. The models are supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Z-9 is a Chinese utility helicopter deriving from the license-built design of the European Dauphin type. Its hallmark is the shrouded tail rotor, that is a small rotor housed in a duct in the vertical tail surface, and the streamlined fuselage with a marked transition into the tail boom. The Z-9B version is a land-based utility pattern used to carry people and materiel and for support tasks.
Snip the small parts off with fine cutters and level the traces of the gates with a scalpel, so that no marks are left on the small fuselage. Glue the rotors on only at the end, as they are thin and easily damaged. Paint with an airbrush with heavily thinned paint in several passes, as a heavy coat would swallow the engraving. The glazing of the cockpit is usually dealt with in this scale by a dark paint or gloss black coated over with a clear varnish. Three examples in the package make it possible to unify the color of the whole group in one go.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
