An injection-molded plastic kit of a guided missile frigate of the PLA Navy in 1:350 scale from Trumpeter. The model is built as a full-hull version and is meant to be glued, painted and displayed on a stand. Photo-etched sheet for fine details and antennas is usually included as well.
The Type 054A (NATO reporting name Jiangkai II) is a modern multipurpose guided missile frigate, developed as an improvement on the earlier Type 054 class. It carries gun armament, a vertical launching system for anti-aircraft and anti-submarine weapons and a landing spot and hangar for a helicopter. It ranks among the most widely built surface ships of its era.
Use thin plastic cement and first clean the parts of flash. It pays to prime the hull and the superstructure and to paint them with an airbrush; the deck details and the railings are picked out with a fine brush and a wash into the recesses. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
