A6M5 Zero turned armament barrels and pitot tube 1:48 replace the plastic parts from the kit with more faithful metal parts. The set covers 7.7 mm and 20 mm barrels and an air data tube.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set is not an aircraft model but a metal detail accessory for a kit of the Japanese fighter A6M5 Zero in 1:48 scale. It contains turned barrels of the 7.7 mm machine guns and the 20 mm cannons together with a pitot (air data) tube. The metal parts have faithful muzzles and thin walls that injected plastic cannot reach.
The Mitsubishi A6M Zero was a Japanese carrier fighter of the Second World War, famous for its long range and its agility. The A6M5 variant was among the most widespread and carried a pair of 7.7 mm machine guns in the nose of the fuselage and a pair of 20 mm cannons in the wings.
You cut the plastic barrels and the air data tube off and replace them with the metal parts, ideally into predrilled holes. Glue with cyanoacrylate. Fit the air data tube only after varnishing so that it is not bent. Degrease the metal before painting and apply the paint thinly so that the muzzle stays sharp.
The accessory calls for a base kit; glue, paints and the model itself are not included in the package.
