Cast containers of Soviet design, two pieces in the package, intended for the pylons of ground-attack aircraft, fighters and attack helicopters of Eastern origin. Reskit supplies them as a resin accessory with open tube mouths.
The pod carries five unguided rockets of one hundred and twenty-two millimeters caliber. Against the small rockets of smaller containers these are heavy munitions with a penetrating warhead that can deal with a shelter, a fortification or a concrete aircraft shelter. This type came fully into its own in the mountainous terrain of Afghanistan and stayed in service even after the breakup of the Soviet Union. The containers were hung one under each pylon, so the pair from the package covers the ordinary loadout of one model.
The mouths of the tubes tend to be deep and clog with paint easily, so plug them with a piece of foam before spraying. After the casting residue is removed it pays to run a round file over the inner edges, so that the rims stay thin. The metal look of the container stands out when you go over a dark base with a dry brush in a graphite shade. Finally bring the finished piece out with a dark wash in the gaps between the tubes.
A carrier, racks and paints are not supplied with the pair of pods. You attach them according to the instructions for your kit.
