A resin detail set from the Czech brand CMK in 1:48 scale. This is not a model of an aircraft but a complete replacement of the cockpit of a model of the British BAC Lightning fighter in the F2, F2A, F3 and F6 versions from the Eduard and Airfix kits. The set brings a new cockpit tub, side walls, an ejection seat, a control column and finely worked instrument panels which capture the differences between the versions. The instrument dials are printed on clear film. It is intended for more experienced modelers.
The BAC (English Electric) Lightning F2 to F6 represented the developed versions of this British supersonic interceptor. The later F3 and F6 machines received more powerful engines and a larger fin area, and the F6 an increased fuel capacity as well; the machine became famous for its enormous rate of climb and a speed exceeding twice the speed of sound.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); protect your airways when sanding. The cockpit will stand out once it has been painted with an airbrush, the instruments brought out and a fine weathering applied. Finish the interior before closing up the fuselage.
The set contains resin parts and printed film only. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
