A set of exterior details from the brand Quinta Studio for the control surfaces of the Bf 109E fighter. These are 3D-printed, pre-colored pieces laid on a decal backing: the parts are moistened and applied like a decal, but when dry they form a fine three-dimensional 3D relief with a realistic texture and color. The control surfaces are the moving surfaces by which an aircraft is flown: the rudder, the elevators and the ailerons. On the Bf 109E they were covered with fabric stretched over ribs, so they had a characteristic ribbed, slightly sagging texture. This set carries that fabric rib texture and the fine surface detail faithfully onto the control surfaces of the model; it replaces the laborious engraving or painted imitation and lifts the realism of the machine. It is not an aircraft model, not a complete kit and not separate moving parts; it is a surface detail accessory exclusively for the Bf 109E kit from the maker Dragon, which you have to own.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109E, nicknamed the Emil, is an early and key variant of the German Bf 109 fighter, committed above all in the opening years of the Second World War, including the Battle of Britain. It was powered by an inverted V12 Daimler-Benz DB 601 engine and was one of the main props of the German fighter force of the time.
The parts are cut out, dipped in water for a few seconds and slid off the backing onto the corresponding control surfaces of the model. The surface has to be clean, smooth and degreased. A final coat of varnish will unify the surface and let the surfaces be blended into the camouflage.
This is an accessory for a kit, not a model. The Bf 109E kit itself, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
