A set from the Czech maker Hauler intended for models of the British Crusader Mk.I/II cruiser tank in 1:48 scale. It is aimed at the close support version armed with the 3-inch (76.2 mm) howitzer and brings photo-etched parts, along with supplementary items for the conversion and for refining the build. It is an aftermarket accessory, not a model in its own right. The target kit is Tamiya.
The Crusader was a British cruiser tank of the period of the North African fighting of the Second World War. Alongside the standard antitank armament there was also a close support version with a short 3-inch howitzer, intended for destroying fortifications and laying smoke screens. The tank was marked by a low silhouette and running gear with many road wheels.
The photo-etched parts are separated with a sharp knife, bent over an edge and bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). With the conversion parts, take care to sand the bonding faces clean. Degrease the parts before painting and spray them with a primer; against a light desert shade, dust weathering and washes come off well.
This is a detail and conversion accessory. The Tamiya base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
