This is not an aircraft model but a set of three-dimensional interior decals for the German Do 217 bomber in the K and M versions, in 1:48 scale. The box gives them as intended for the ICM kit. The maker is the Ukrainian brand Kelik, which since 2021 has concentrated on exactly these interior 3D decals. They are layered and in relief, so the instrument panels have real depth. On a large bomber that matters, because the glazed nose lets you see into the cockpit.
The Do 217 was a German twin-engine bomber that followed on in development from the older Do 17 but was markedly larger and more powerful. The K and M versions were late forms with a rebuilt, fully glazed nose without a step for the pilot, and they differed in their engines, radials on the K version and inline engines on the M version. It was from this family that the machines carrying guided munitions came as well.
The procedure differs from that for ordinary decals. Soak the decal for a few seconds in warm water, and once it releases from the backing paper, settle it in place. A gloss base or PVA glue (white glue) helps it adhere better. Important: do not use decal softener or a setting solution, as they would damage the 3D decals. Finish the interior before you glue the glazed nose in place.
This is an accessory, not a kit. The ICM base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
