This is an accessory photo-etched set from Eduard, not an airplane model. The set contains photo-etched metal parts that replace the plastic flaps from the box and make it possible to show them in the open (lowered) position, together with a view of their internal structure.
The set serves to render the landing flaps of the wing in detail. It is intended for models of the German heavy night fighter Dornier Do 217J-1/2 in 1:48 scale. Open flaps add dynamism to a model and reveal the otherwise hidden structure.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife and shape the folds and swages with tweezers or a bending tool. Bond them with super glue and apply a primer before painting so that the paint holds on the metal. For the inner faces of the flaps choose a shade matching the inside of the wing.
