The injection-molded plastic kit Douglas Skyraider AD-6 (A-1H) in 1:48 scale from Tamiya — the American piston-engine carrier-based attack aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Douglas Skyraider AD-6 piston-engine attack aircraft (redesignated A-1H from 1962) in 1:48 scale from Tamiya. The model faithfully captures the robust shape of the aircraft; the engine cowl flaps, the ailerons and the dive brakes can all be built in the open or the closed position. The box contains a rich set of external stores (bombs and rockets), a pilot figure and several marking options. Check the exact contents against the manufacturer's information.
The Douglas Skyraider was an American piston-engine carrier-based attack aircraft with an exceptional weapons load and long endurance in the air. Although it was created at the end of the Second World War, it came into its own later: it served in the Korean War and the Vietnam War for close air support and for escorting rescue helicopters. The AD-6 was the most numerous production version; in 1962 it received the new designation A-1H.
Cut the parts from the sprues and glue them with liquid modeling cement for plastic. Paint and highlight the cockpit before you close up the fuselage, and mask the clear canopy while spraying. Decide in advance on the position of the flaps and the brakes. Lay down a primer and the colors with an airbrush, and apply the decals over a gloss coat. Fit the external stores at the end; the aircraft takes heavy service wear and exhaust staining well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
