F-111 (A/B/C/D/E) and EF-111 Exhaust Nozzles (1:48, Reskit)

A detail resin set of exhaust nozzles, not an aircraft model. The set replaces the exhaust nozzles of both engines on the General Dynamics F-111 strike aircraft in the A, B, C, D and E versions and the EF-111 jammer, in 1:48 scale. Resin castings capture the fine ribbing and petals of the nozzles far more accurately than plastic, and save laborious cleanup. The set is made by the Ukrainian company Reskit and is shaped to fit a specific plastic F-111 kit in this scale.

Use and fitting

• Wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap to remove the release agent.
• Cut away the casting blocks and supports with a sharp scalpel or a fine saw – do not snap them off.
• Sand the cut surfaces flat – always with respiratory protection, ideally wet-sanding.
• Glue with cyanoacrylate glue; plastic cement does not bond to resin.
• Dry-fit the nozzles into the rear fuselage and fine-tune the fit before gluing.

Painting tips

Apply a primer, then the metal tones (burnt metal, steel, titanium). Darken the inside of the petals and pick out the edges with dry-brushing or graphite; thin filters and soot around the outlet will add an in-service look.

Who the set is for

For modelers building the F-111 or EF-111 in 1:48 scale who want to raise the level of the aircraft's highly visible tail section. Working with resin calls for some experience.

The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package. When sanding resin, use a respirator and ventilate the area.
