F-4B Phantom II cockpit 1:48, basic version with decals from Reskit: a printed resin set for the Tamiya kit. An accessory, not a kit of the aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Phantom has a two-seat cabin, so through an open canopy twice as much is visible in it as on a single-seat machine, and a plastic molding as a rule cannot manage that. This set brings a cockpit made by 3D printing from resin, on which the side panels, the tubs and the seats have sharp edges and deep detail. The basic version is completed with three-dimensional instrument decals, so the instrument panels do not have to be laboriously painted. The set is intended for the F-4B kit from the Tamiya firm.
The F-4B is the early naval version of the Phantom, that is the two-seat twin-engine machine that became a symbol of the 1960s. It had no built-in gun and relied entirely on guided missiles, which turned out to be a weakness in Vietnam and led to later changes. The front cabin was worked by the pilot and the rear one by the radar operator, and it is his station that looks markedly different from the front one.
Cut the parts off the print supports with a sharp scalpel or a fine saw and level the areas with a file, and sand with respiratory protection. It is glued with cyanoacrylate, that is with super glue. Before painting, try dry how the set seats inside the fuselage, because printed tubs tend to be a tight fit. With the three-dimensional decals, keep to the instructions enclosed and do not use a decal softener on them unless the instructions expressly recommend it.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
