Quinta Studio interior F-5F-2 Tiger II 1:48

An aftermarket set of pre-colored interior printed by 3D technology on decal paper. Quinta Studio prepared it for plastic models of the two-seat Northrop F-5F Tiger II in 1:48 scale. The set quickly turns a bare cockpit into a well-worked interior with no need for photo-etch.

The real subject

The F-5F is the two-seat trainer and combat version of the successful Tiger II light fighter. Compared with the single-seat F-5E it has a lengthened nose and two cockpits one behind the other, which is why it contains the interior for both seats.

Use

  • Cut the part out, lift it off the backing and offer it up in the matching place in both cockpits.
  • On surfaces of complex shape, gentle pressure and softening if needed will help. Softening here means water, not a decal softener, which would attack the printed resin.
  • The detail can be brought out with a dark wash in the recesses.
