Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American carrier-based fighter Grumman F4F-3 Wildcat in its late production version (Late) in 1:48 scale from manufacturer Hobby Boss. It is a compact model with finely engraved surface detail, clear plastic for the cockpit glazing, and decals for several marking options. The Late designation refers to the late production run of the F4F-3 version.
The Grumman F4F Wildcat was an American carrier-based fighter that formed the backbone of the US Navy and Marine Corps fighter fleet at the start of the war in the Pacific. It was distinguished by a stocky fuselage, hand-cranked retractable landing gear, and rugged construction. The F4F-3 version was armed with four machine guns and powered by a radial engine. A number of well-known pilots made their names on Wildcats during the early years of fighting against Japanese air power.
Use thin plastic cement, and glue the clear parts with cyanoacrylate or a dedicated canopy cement. Finish and paint the cockpit before closing the fuselage. Apply a primer before painting and spray the colors with an airbrush; on blue-gray naval schemes, subtle panel-line highlighting pays off. Fit the hand-cranked retractable landing gear carefully per the instructions so the wheels sit at the correct angle.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
