About product

The German helmet M35/40 (Stahlhelm) 1:48 (Firma49)

A set of resin helmets produced by 3D printing, representing the German steel helmet M35/40 (Stahlhelm) in 1:48 scale. This accessory from the Czech manufacturer Firma49 serves for fitting figures out and for bringing dioramas to life. It is not a model of a vehicle but detailed equipment.

The real subject

The Stahlhelm of the M35 pattern was introduced into the German army in 1935 and became one of the most recognizable symbols of the soldier of the Second World War. The M40 model was a production-simplified variant with pressed ventilation openings. Characteristic of it is the deep dome with a short rim, which protected the nape and the ears.

Building and painting tips

Separate the helmets from the support structures; it is worth dipping the resin briefly in hot water before trimming, so that it softens. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Wash the parts before painting and apply a primer. A matte gray-green (feldgrau) color suits them, and accentuate the patina in the recesses with a wash.

Who it is for

  • Builders of figures and dioramas on German subjects
  • Modelers of scenes of the Second World War in 1:48 scale
  • Collectors of detailed accessories for figures

The accessory is supplied as unpainted resin parts. Paints, glue and figures are not included in the package.
