An injection-molded plastic kit of the British jet aircraft Hawker Hunter in 1:48 scale from Airfix. One box makes it possible to build three versions, the ground attack FGA.9, the reconnaissance FR.10 and the naval trainer GA.11, and it offers decals for three color schemes. The plastic has fine engraving and the canopy glazing is clear. The range of parts matches a more modern tooling with a clear, easily built structure.
The Hawker Hunter was an elegant British jet fighter of the 1950s that became one of the most successful British postwar machines and served with dozens of air forces all over the world. The FGA.9 version was created as a ground attack conversion for service outside Europe, the FR.10 was a photo-reconnaissance machine and the GA.11 served with the navy for training. Clean aerodynamic shapes and reliability gave the Hunter an exceptionally long career.
Use thin cement for plastic and dry-fit the parts. Mask the canopy glazing and paint it separately. Spray a primer before painting; smooth metal and glossy naval finishes come out well on a perfectly sanded base. Lay a gloss coat under the decals and unify the whole according to the real subject.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
